Life, as it goes by

I am so excited to be sitting here on this cloudy, cold morning.  I guess it is actually afternoon.  I have had a morning of catching up with a neighbor, snuggling a baby, reading my bible, getting sewing stuff together and just overall enjoying myself.  I am blessed to have days like today often, but today just seems extra special for some reason.

I have been trying to think lately about remembering to sit here and post but whenever I think of it, it is 11:45 at night and I am driving home to hurry into bed.  Or, I might be driving to the store.  I might be sitting at home, but not liking the idea of messing with the computer.  I decided that sometimes, something like a blog, can just wait.  However, I also decided to take this moment and just jot a few things about our everyday life as I am realizing so quickly that it just flies by.  This isn't a post that I am at all thinking about sharing, just something for my own heart.

Paityn is loving her time at school.  We were presented with some challenges as far as another student who thought that it really was great to cause problems, not only for Paityn but for several others also.  However, even with young children I have learned that God provides opportunity for growth in our challenges.  Paityn has really clung to the idea of God's timing not ours, as she realizes that God might have a different timeline or idea about how to fix the issue.

Corbin, Oh, my sweet Corbin.  I recently looked over to realize that the man that I am married to is such a blessing to us.  Ok, so this wasn't a realization, but a reminder.  He is always willing to work with Paityn. He encourages the constant running back and forth of three girls (Paityn and the two girls who live in our building) and even allows the pets to drive him crazy.  We often joke that he is the family's grouchy old man, but in reality, he is so gracious.

Life for me, right now, seems to have become about spending time in my bible and growing in my walk with Christ.  I started the chronological reading plan and am loving it.  I realized the other night that it was the first time in my life that I wasn't dying to pick up my kindle to read a novel, but rather wanted to pick up my kindle to read ahead in my scheduled reading as I hated leaving off part way through a story.  I am learning that despite reading things that I have read before, it truly does bring perspective to read it so thoroughly.

I can't wait to see just what it is that the next weeks, months, even years mean for us.

  1. What a happy, snuggly post! I am overjoyed that life has become so sweet for you, friend. And that is AWESOME that you're craving time in God's Word. That is one area I am feeling called to grow in this year as well, and knowing you and I are both seeking more time in the word is really encouraging. Love you!
