Written the week of June 3rd.
I cant believe this week is already here. Such a normal week but feels so monumental. My baby turned 9 years old. Wow, another birthday has come and gone. I cant put into words how this has effected me this year.
On May 26th my niece Madison graduated from high school. Such an amazing young lady. As i stood there looking through the amazing scrapbook that she had of all of her school years, i realized i am half way there with Paityn. I have 9 years until Paityn will be doing this same thing. WOW! That hit me. I have had so little time with her but yet i am half way to the day the world says my baby is an adult. If this hit me this hard now then i am a bit concerned about my mental stability in the years to come.
So, the birthday celebration consisted of a weekend family get together with Grandparents, Aunt B and Madison. The kitten that became part of our family a few weeks ago is actually part of Paityn's birthday present but due to some scheduling issues we got her early. The other big gift for Paityn this year was the quilt that I finished for her. I am sure that her mother has a much more sentimental view on this then she does at this time, but it meant a lot to me to have the first quilt that I finished be the one for my little girl.
Another sentimental birthday gift was one on one embroidery lessons with her cousin Madison. To see the two girls sitting together working away on the embroidery was special as I remember that I was about her same age when I started all my crafting. The funniest thing of the day was Paityn returning from her fathers to ask me if I really made her a "BUTT CAKE?" I think that will be something we laugh over for the rest of our lives.

I can't believe how God has blessed with 9 wonderful years with her and I can't wait for all the years to come!

So, our birthday celebration did not end with the celebration on her birthday. We continued it to the following weekend and had a sleepover for Paityn and two friends. I have to say that the highlight of that for me, as her mom, was the amazing cupcakes that we got. A woman that I work with makes these amazing cupcakes and was so great to do a fun new design for Paityn. They were so much fun and they sure tasted wonderful!!

| As the mother, it is my opinion, that this was the best part of the sleepover...WHEN THEY WERE ALL ASLEEP!!! |

In addition to the birthday party we had our little Miss Paityn gradate up to a new Sunday School class. This might seem like no big deal, but it certainly was in my mind. She graduated to the "fun" room with couches and games like Foosball. I had to be one of those mothers who took a picture. Someday I swear Paityn is going to break my camera and make it impossible to get a new one. The best part of this for me was seeing that no matter what fun all the kids were having they all were walking away talking about the lessons that they learned that day. Oh, it brought back memories to think of the times that I sat on those kinds of couches and learned myself. It makes me excited for the fun, learning and growth that is waiting in store for her.
