Paityn has become our little fish. There was a time, many years ago, when Aunty Stacy took Paityn in the pool and would exit with wounds from Paityn clinging to her. Now, we can't keep Paityn on land. We gave the girl a pair of goggle (gargoles, as she likes to call them) and have truly watched a transformation happen. I said recently that it would not surprise me at all if she decided this was her thing and wanted to keep swimming even when the need for lessons is over. We have tried ballet, tap, karate, and gymnastics. None of these activities interested her nearly as much as putting on her suit and goggles and jumping in the pool. The love for water doesn't stop at the pool either. She would be happy to just live in her suite, even if it was playing at the water park, or swimming at the lake. We made a recent decision to take a short break on her lessons and allow her to enjoy some more evening time for the rest of the summer. At the time the decision was discussed she was in complete agreement, even excited about the break. The last day of lessons she was so upset that she wasn't going on right away. So, to say that we will be back in swimming the moment the enrollment begins for the next session, is a given.
Although not an event, another big part of the summer is watching our kitten, Lilly, grow into quit the little stinker. She is such a cuddle bug, but she sure does LOVE giving Bandit a run for his money. It isn't uncommon for her to climb up and want to sit with me when I am doing just about anything. Recently I was reading my bible and was joined by this little warm fuzz. Next thing I knew she had her paw on my hand and looked just like she was reading with me. Even now, she is laying next to me as I type with her head on my lap. I have never been able to have a cat because of family allergies. In truth, I wondered how I would do with her. Well, after Elroy and now Lilly, I am a cat lover. As we sit with still over a month on the calendar till school starts, I am amazed that we are already preparing to Paityn to be a 4th grader. We got her list for supplies and have spent weeks talking about which class she is going to be in. I get asked on a weekly basis how long until the class list will be posted. So, as we sit back to enjoy the moments we have left of summer, we also begin the process of watching another year go by.
OH, HOW TIME FLIES BY!!!
